This document presents the design and validation of a miniature microstrip antenna array using a circular shaped dumbbell defected ground structure for ISM band applications, achieving a significant miniaturization of 74.47% and successfully shifting resonance from 5.8 GHz to 2.45 GHz. The antenna was optimized using CST MW Studio, yielding good agreement between simulation and measurement results, including a return loss of -19.98 dB at the target frequency. The design promises effective performance in terms of impedance matching and gain, affirming its utility in compact wireless communication applications.
