This document outlines a project to design and construct an automatic room light controller with a bidirectional visitor counter. It aims to limit power waste by turning lights off when rooms are empty and automatically turning them on when people enter. The system will incorporate transmitters, receivers, and relays to detect presence and absence and control lights accordingly. It will also count the number of people in a room at a given time. The project scope includes use in schools, offices, and conference halls to conserve electricity without inconveniencing visitors.
Electricity is oneof the most important resources in this country, the
electricity must be conserved, but many times people come outside
the room/hall forgetting to turn off the lights/fan, thus the electricity
is wasted.
The concept behind this project is to cut power supply when
there is no one in the room, thus reducing energy consumption.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM.
3.
Aims
This project aimsat;
• Limiting power waste in schools, collages, offices and
conference halls.
• Making a controller which can sense if any person enters the
room and lights up automatically.
4.
OBJECTIVES
• To designand construct an automatic room light controller
with bidirectional visitor counter.
• Incorporate transmitters, receivers and relay to detect the
presence and absence of persons and do the switching
automatically.
5.
SIGNIFICANCE
This system willnot only look at controlling the room light
circuit, it will also help to know the number of persons in a
room at a particular time.
LIMITATIONS
• Because ituses electricity, it will not work when there is
power outage.
• And also the counter can not detect when two people enter
at the same time.
8.
METHODOLOGY
• Collect informationon energy consumptions in schools,
colleges, offices and conference centers.
• The use of available component, taking into consideration
their cost and efficiency from manufactures, and the best
once suitable to this country.
