URL Parameters?
URL parameters are tags you can add at
the end of a link that help you to...
Find out the number of
clicks on one specific link
For example
you may want to post a blog link on facebook
and check how many clicks this link has received in
your analytics tool
I know, I know..It can be tracked on facebook.
But, you can use UTM parameters to track links
anywhere on the web, irrespective of whether it’s on
facebook or twitter, etc.
So, how do you start?
Copy the url from the search bar you want to track

Go to the Google URL Builder

in the ‘URL Builder Form’

Enter your Source (or utm_source)

Source is the source where I will publish my
content. If I publish it on twitter, I’d use
twitter.com. Since, I’m publishing this link
on facebook, I will use facebook.com

Medium is the marketing medium you
will use to get to your customers.

you give to your campaign. Since I am
using this from a blog post, I will name
it blogpost.

Entering content is optional. However, you can use
content to A/B test two different variations of a
facebook headlines for the same post.
Under utm_content, enter ‘has headline #1’
Under utm_content, enter ‘has headline #2’
