Cloud computing is the practice of using remote servers on the internet to store, manage and process data rather than local servers or personal computers. It provides shared computing resources and data to devices on demand. There are three types of cloud computing models - private cloud which uses a private network, public cloud owned by providers offering highest efficiency, and hybrid cloud combining public and private. Cloud computing offers benefits like cost savings and mobility. The three main service models are software as a service, platform as a service, and infrastructure as a service. Examples include social networking, email hosting, banking, healthcare and government services.
