LinkedIn Learning Org Sync allows you to automatically update Learner data to ensure the most up-to-date information is available.
Org Sync is an integration that allows you to automatically send employee data (e.g., department, location, manager) to LinkedIn Learning and keep that data updated.
After set up, there’s no action needed from you or your team. The data is sent and kept up-to-date by automatically transferring a CSV file over SFTP/HTTPS daily, weekly, or monthly.
Your HRIS will establish a SFTP/HTTPS connection with LinkedIn Learning and transmit a CSV file of updated information, which LinkedIn Learning uses to automatically update employee data.
Important to know
Only specific employee data, such as email address, external ID, job title, direct manager, license status, permissions, worker status, and additional attributes for reporting are included in the CSV file.

Org Sync must be enabled by your IT team. Please reach out to your organization’s help desk for HRIS team to enable and configure Org Sync.
Your IT team configures Org Sync by taking the following steps:
-
Your IT team will configure your HRIS to generate a CSV file in the format required for upload to LinkedIn Learning.
Our Technical Consulting team is available for assistance in completing this task.
-
Your IT team will then configure a SFTP or HTTPS connection between your HRIS and LinkedIn Learning so the CSV file can be sent daily, weekly, or monthly.
-
Each time LinkedIn Learning receives the CSV file, it uploads the file and updates the user list per data in the CSV file.
Reduce the time spent on manually uploading CSV files to manage users and groups:
-
User management: Automatically assign and revoke licenses based on employee data. For example, automatically revoke a license when an employee leaves the company or assign a license when a new employee joins. Or, assign a license to employees based on which department they belong to.
-
Group management: Automatically assign employees to groups based on their manager or any other employee data point, such as location or department. If or when an employee changes groups for any reason such as a team change or level change, that change will automatically reflect in LinkedIn Learning.
Make reporting more powerful: Automatically send LinkedIn Learning employee attributes to create the most useful reports. And always keep reporting up-to-date as employee attributes constantly change (e.g., departments, location, and reporting relationships).
Provide more personalized learning: Based on employee job title, manager, and team membership, LinkedIn Learning can make smarter course recommendations, and notify employees when close colleagues like, share, or recommend a course.
