In simple words, the Google Display Network is a collection of
millions of websites under the Google Ad Sense Program
where you as an advertiser can place ads (web banners or text
ads on various websites) through GoogleAds.
Any web banner you see while visiting the CNN website or
Movie Reviews site is part of the display network.
HowGDN works
In a simple way, there are 3 parties involved.
Publisher or website owner who owns and runs the site can be a part of the Google
Ad Sense Program.
Advertiser or brand pays Google to bring traffic to site.They have to set up
campaign via Google Ads.
Google via Google Ad Sense Program which allows the reach out to potential
buyers.
