This document describes the design of an 8x8 MIMO microstrip patch antenna array for 5G applications operating from 4.9-6.2 GHz. Slots are etched into the patch to achieve wideband operation and compact size. Simulation results show return loss below -11 dB across the band, isolation above 16 dB between elements, and gains between 1.2-4.6 dB. The antenna presents a simple, small size design suitable for 5G devices.
