Message templates in LinkedIn Recruiter make it easy to communicate with multiple candidates effectively by reusing tailored messages instead of drafting new ones each time.
To enhance response rates, it’s important to review each candidate's contact preferences on LinkedIn before sending a message. You can edit your own saved templates either in Product settings or directly while composing a message on a candidate’s profile. Note that you can only modify the templates you’ve created.
-
Move your cursor over your profile picture at the upper right corner of your Recruiter homepage and select Product settings from the dropdown.
-
Click Message templates on the left pane.
-
Under My Message Templates, move your cursor over the template and click the Edit icon.
-
Make changes to the template name, subject line, message, or visibility.
-
Click Update to overwrite the existing template or click Save as new template to create a new template with your changes.
- If you're saving the template as a new template, enter the new name and under Make this template visible to, select Only me or Anyone in my organization.
- If you'd like to to go back without saving your changes, click the Cancel icon in the top right corner of the message window.
You can delete a message template you own, but you cannot delete another member's message template on your contract. Additionally, admins can view and delete message templates set to Anyone in my organization under the visibility settings; however, they cannot view or delete message templates set to Only me.
If a template is set to be visible to anyone in your organization, recruiters on your contract can touch up a message template using AI when they draft a message to a candidate. AI-Assisted Messages will incorporate relevant candidate information into the draft to create a personalized message. This feature is available when drafting initial recruiting outreach messages that use an English template with more than 300 characters. At this time, LinkedIn Recruiter Professional Services customers can only touch up a template in 1:1 messages, not bulk messages. Additionally, messages sent by Recruiter Professional Services customers will include a note indicating they are hiring on behalf of a client without naming the staffing firm.
