Copy/paste images, wrong order

Description

I've noticed issues with copy/pasting content containing images into the post editor. I have a text with a few thousand words and a couple of images in a google doc. I copy the content of the doc and paste it into the editor. Some times when the images gets embedded and uploaded the order or the images in the post gets messed up and other times the same images gets uploaded multiple times, replacing the correct images.

Maybe related to #66094?

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

1. Create a fresh WP install
2. Create a google doc with a few images
3. Copy all the content of the doc and paste it into a new post on the WP site
4. The issue is intermittent, so repeat step 3 a few times and the issue should be apparent.

Detailed Findings:

• Text and image structure consistently preserved
• No image reordering
• No missing or duplicate images
• No image replacements
• All images uploaded correctly & displayed in proper order
• Async image upload functioned smoothly
• No editor crashes or freezes

Test Conclusion

Status: ❌ Unable to Reproduce
Across 4 paste tests, images consistently appeared in the correct order.

The issue may be timing/latency-based rather than consistently reproducible.

Hello @khushdoms and thanks for looking into this. As I wrote in my original post the issue is indeed intermittent. If I read your report correctly you only tried with 3 images. Can you try with a few more, and perhaps with higher resolution? I agree that it is probably a timing issue, which might be more apparent under heavier load.

@traed we need additional information; I'm completely unable to reproduce this.

@FakhriAz was only able to reproduce this also in Local WP but it has been completely impossible outside here. He might add his report anytime soon. But it seems to be a specific problem to Local WP.

Can you try reproducing it in Playground here: https://playground.wordpress.net/?gutenberg-branch=trunk

If are able by any chance to reproduce this in this Playground URL I have provided, can you check the Javascript console (check developer tools in Chrome with F12) and also can you copy the code output (in the editor, go to the Code Editor with Ctrl + Shift + Alt + M if you are in Windows, in Mac I'm n ot sure the combination). But do this only in Playground, not in Local. If the problem is specific to Local we cannot do anything to fix this.

We first noticed the issue on our production site so it's not specific to Local. I will test in the playground later and report back.
