🌟 Insights for those in Transition 🌟 If you find yourself in that deeply unsettling liminal space following a layoff or resignation, this is for you. Having guided many individuals, including myself, through similar transitions, I can assure you: You will be okay. 1. Go Slow and Be Patient: Resist the urge to dive headfirst into frantic networking, job applications, or hastily accepting new roles. Take a breath and go slow. 2. Embrace Discomfort: Recognize that this moment of uncertainty is temporary. 3. Be Bored: Allow yourself the luxury of boredom. Whether it's gazing out the window, losing yourself in a book, or indulging in Netflix, give yourself permission to simply be bored. 4. Hold the Tension of the Opposites: Allow yourself to sit with the tension between the life you once knew and the unknown life yet to be lived. Create space for possibilities to emerge. 5. Allow Yourself to Grieve: Acknowledge the metaphorical loss of your former identity and the closure of this chapter in your life. Tears are medicine. 6. Declutter: Literally and metaphorically, cleanse your surroundings of items that no longer hold value to you. Energetically make room for new beginnings. 7. Move Your Body: Incorporate daily outdoor walks into your routine. Notice the insights that arise as you connect with nature. 8. Step Outside Your Comfort Zone: Explore activities that pique your interest but previously seemed daunting or not a priority. Whether it's trying a new class, embarking on a local hike, or pursuing a creative endeavor, seize the opportunity to stretch beyond your comfort zone. Now is the time to explore. 9. Seek Support: Reach out to a therapist, coach, or healer for guidance and support. Having someone to confide in can provide invaluable assistance during this transition. Remember: You possess the resilience to overcome this challenge. There is a new path emerging. With warmth and support, Brittney

We've all been there - those challenging moments that make us question our goals, our dreams, and our ability to succeed. 🤔 But it's precisely during these tough times that our true strength and determination are put to the test. I want to share some insights on how I've managed to push through difficulties and achieve success. 1️⃣ Embrace the Growth Mindset: Instead of viewing setbacks as failures, I choose to see them as opportunities to learn and grow. Adopting a growth mindset has allowed me to see challenges as steppingstones toward improvement, ultimately leading me closer to my goals. 2️⃣ Break It Down: When facing a colossal task, it's easy to get overwhelmed. I combat this by breaking the challenge into smaller, manageable steps. This approach makes it easier to track progress and celebrate victories along the way. 3️⃣ Seek Support: No one can do it all alone, and I've learned the importance of seeking support during difficult times. Whether it's a mentor, a friend, or a professional network, having a support system can provide valuable advice, encouragement, and motivation. 4️⃣ Stay Flexible, Not Fixed: While having a clear vision is essential, it's equally vital to remain flexible in our approach. Life is unpredictable, and being open to adjusting our strategies can lead to unexpected breakthroughs. 5️⃣ Maintain a Positive Mindset: Positivity is a powerful force. During tough times, I try to focus on gratitude and the progress I've made so far. Shifting my mindset from dwelling on the negatives to appreciating the positives gives me the resilience to keep going. 6️⃣ Celebrate Small Wins: It's crucial to acknowledge and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small. These mini-celebrations act as fuel, propelling me forward and boosting my confidence. 7️⃣ Learn from Setbacks: Setbacks are inevitable, but they don't define us. Instead of dwelling on them, I take a step back, analyze what went wrong, and identify the valuable lessons they offer. This enables me to come back even stronger. 8️⃣ Remember Your "Why": Our underlying motivation can serve as a powerful anchor during challenging times. Revisiting our purpose and the reasons why we started this journey reignites our passion and reinforces our commitment to succeed. Remember, success is not a linear path. It's about embracing the ups and downs, persevering through challenges, and staying true to our aspirations. Let's continue supporting each other on this incredible journey of growth and achievement! 👉Which of these 8 resonates with you? ➡️How do you push through during difficult times to achieve success? #SuccessMindset #Perseverance #bestadvice #whatinspiresme #GrowthAndLearning #Challenges #Motivation #bestsweekever

Navigating life's unexpected turns can often lead us to our true calling. My journey from the Navy to entrepreneurship is a testament to the power of resilience, adaptability, and the relentless pursuit of growth. In the wake of my service as an Us Navy Blue Angels and an instructor pilot, I faced the daunting task of transitioning to civilian life without a clear roadmap. The leap into the unknown was challenging, but it was driven by a desire to leverage my experience in building high-performance teams in a new arena. My entry into the business world began with education, immersing myself in an entirely new language at Stanford. Despite feeling out of my element, I realized that the core principles of leadership and teamwork I had honed in the Navy were universally needed. My journey took a dramatic turn on September 11, 2001, when a business venture I was about to launch in aviation entertainment vanished before my eyes. Coupled with personal upheaval, I found myself at a crossroads. Instead of succumbing to despair, I embraced the growth mindset I'd always advocated. I discovered a renewed purpose in sharing the principles of high performance and leadership transformation, a mission that has fueled my work for the last two decades. For leaders facing their own pivot points, remember: 1. Embrace Change: View each transition as an opportunity to grow and redefine your path. 2. Leverage Your Strengths: Your unique experiences are invaluable assets in any field. 3. Pursue Learning: Education, whether formal or through life's lessons, is foundational to navigating new territories. 4. Stay Resilient: Challenges, both personal and professional, test our resolve but also reveal our true potential. 5. Find Your Purpose: Align your efforts with what truly motivates you, turning setbacks into stepping stones toward success. Every leader has the capacity to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and impact. My story is a reminder that with resilience, a growth mindset, and a commitment to leadership, there's no limit to what we can achieve. #Leadership #GrowthMindset #Resilience #HighPerformanceTeams #Entrepreneurship

🧭 Navigating the Inner Landscape as an Entrepreneur 🧭 As entrepreneurs, our biggest battleground often lies within. Our thoughts, fears, and self-doubt can be our toughest opponents. Mindset is everything. It's not just about facing challenges; it's about transforming them into stepping stones towards success. Here are some strategies to maintain a positive and resilient mindset: ⭐ Mindfulness Meditation: Start your day with a moment of stillness. Breathe in optimism, breathe out stress. This simple practice can anchor you, keeping you grounded in the face of adversity. ⭐ Affirmative Self-Talk: Replace self-doubt with affirmations. Tell yourself, 'I am capable, I am resilient, I am deserving.' Positive self-talk is a powerful tool in reshaping your mindset. ⭐ Reconnect with Your 'Why': In moments of doubt, revisit your core reason for starting your business. Getting out of your head and into your heart, where your passion and purpose reside, can reignite your drive. ⭐ Gratitude Journaling: Begin and end your day by jotting down things you're grateful for. Gratitude shifts your focus from problems to possibilities, from limitations to expansion. ⭐ Seek Inspiration: Surround yourself with stories of resilience and triumph. Let the journeys of those who have gone before you fuel your own path. ⭐ Embrace a Growth Mindset: See challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Adopt the belief that every experience, good or bad, contributes to your entrepreneurial wisdom. Believe that whatever is happening is happening ‘for’ you, not ‘to’ you. Consider that the journey of an entrepreneur is as much about personal growth as it is about business growth. What if your business can only grow to the extent that you yourself grow? When negative thoughts surface, take a deep breath, focus on your heart - the epicenter of your passion and reason for your entrepreneurial journey. Keep moving forward with optimism and determination and you’ll find that you become unstoppable. Your mind is your greatest asset. Nurture it, and watch as you and your business flourish together! 🌱💼 #EntrepreneurMindset #MindfulnessInBusiness #PositiveThinking #BusinessGrowth #CoachVania

Challenges I faced during each non-clinical transition period & how i overcame them 1. Being told “no” hundreds of times and taking it personally ➡️ i made myself feel better by telling myself that opportunity would not have been right for me & that i am still a really good candidate and if they don’t see my value then i don’t want to work for them 2. Waiting forever for my turn and feeling like it was never going to happen for me ➡️ reminding myself it’s a marathon and each step of the way i am training and learning something new about myself / the industry 3. Maintaining a positive attitude ➡️ i had a post it note on my desk that read “patience is key, you can do hard things” and read it daily even if i didn’t believe it at times 4. Burn out from putting so much time, energy and effort into the application and interview process ➡️ i took breaks when i felt it was all too much for me and if it was taking away from being present with my kids/ family The mindset mentality is very important when transitioning, any thoughts here?

Navigating the Transition with Purpose Being on the bench between jobs can be a challenging time. However, it's also an opportunity for personal growth and exploration. Over the past few months, I've been investing in activities that have helped me stay productive and kept me positive and motivated.  🧘♂️ Morning Meditation: Starting my day with meditation has been transformative. It sets a positive tone, calms my mind, and helps me approach each day with clarity and focus. 📚 Self-Help Reading: I've been devouring self-help books, both in print and on Audible, to gain new insights, perspectives, and inspiration to keep moving forward. 💪 Regular Exercise: My physical activity isn't just about staying fit; it's about maintaining my mental resilience. Working out four days a week has boosted my energy levels and kept me motivated. 👥 Networking: One of the most valuable activities during this time has been attending networking events. It's not just about finding job leads but also about connecting with like-minded professionals, sharing experiences, and gaining fresh insights. 👨👩👦👦 Family and Friends Time: Amidst the hustle, spending quality time with loved ones. Whether it's sharing meals together or catching up while each of us is searching social media (yes! TicTok, Instagram, or Snapchat), these moments are precious, humorous, and memorable. 🤝 Mentoring Others: Paying it forward is incredibly rewarding. Mentoring fellow professionals who are in a similar situation has not only allowed me to share my experiences but has also given me a sense of purpose and satisfaction. In this transitional period, it's crucial to stay proactive and maintain a positive mindset. Remember, this phase of reemployment is a temporary chapter in your career journey. ❤️ On Valentine's Day, the focus is on love and connection. However, let's take a moment to extend that love to our professional community. Each of us has our own unique story to share. By sharing our experiences, we can offer support and inspiration to one another. If you find yourself in a similar position or have been in the past, please share your story or some words of encouragement. Together, we can foster a sense of community and uplift each other through our collective strength and shared experiences. So, stay strong, and focused, and keep moving forward! #CareerTransition #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #Networking #SelfCare #Mentorship #Career #Valentinesday #Meditation #Selfhelp

My journey from the football field to the business world has been one heck of a ride, and there's one thing I've carried with me every step of the way: a growth mindset. It's what set me apart on my journey through the NFL and what keeps me moving forward in business. This mindset isn't about having some secret formula; it's about facing every challenge head-on with a belief that I can overcome it, always ready to learn and get better. Here's the real deal about why a growth mindset really matters: - Challenges? Bring 'em on: Facing adversity head on both on the field and in the board room is crucial. Seeing challenges as opportunities has been my secret sauce. - Keep on keeping on: From grueling practice sessions to late nights crunching numbers, it's all about sticking with it, even when the going gets tough. Remember your WHY. - Stay positive: No matter how tough things got, staying positive made all the difference. It's about seeing the glass half full, even when everyone else is convinced it's half empty. Be the same person every day. Show up and do the work. - Focus and grind CONSISTENTLY: Every day, it's about setting your sights on your goals and not stopping until you get there. Determination and consistency are key. And let's talk about growing this mindset, because let's face it, it's something you can absolutely develop: 1. Be aware of your mindset: Catch yourself when you start doubting and flip the script. Self talk and positive reinforcement no matter what obstacle you are facing. 2. Love the process: Embrace the grind. Enjoying the journey, not just the destination, makes all the difference. 3. Feedback is your friend: Instead of shying away from advice, soak it up. It's all about getting better, one step at a time. 4. Find your team: Surround yourself with folks who lift you up and push you to be your best. You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Zig Ziglar said it best: "What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." This journey has shaped me, taught me, and pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined. So here's my shoutout to everyone on their own journey: Embrace that growth mindset. Believe in your ability to learn and improve. Because when you do, there's no limit to what you can achieve. Let's keep growing, learning, and smashing those goals. #GrowthMindset #KeepPushing #AlwaysLearning #Success #Mindset

Intentional habit formation works wonders for developing desired behaviors. What about developing a desired mindset? Yep, that too. Enter Gratitude Prompts. There are a lot of suggested daily practices to incorporate gratitude — a gratitude journal, gratitude meditations, gratitude walks… (more suggestions in the comments) Gratitude Prompts provide a less structured, more organic approach that leverages conscious cultivation and “habit stacking” to shift your baseline & give gratitude its own momentum. You can build Gratitude Prompts into your day by attaching intentional gratitude to a built-in behavior. This trains your brain to pause for gratitude at key moments when gratitude might be sidelined by stress or otherwise overlooked. When the trigger occurs, simply pause, breathe & reflect on something you feel genuinely grateful for. A few suggestions: 💥 Set your phone background to an image that sparks gratitude and schedule a reminder for when your alarm goes off. There’s no better way to start your day than with a pause for gratitude. 💥 Bake a gratitude moment or mantra into your exit ritual in the morning. I say a mantra after locking my front door when I leave the house to trigger gratitude, positive energy & enthusiasm for my day. 💥 Choose a visual trigger on your way home from work — a particular billboard or intersection — as a prompt for gratitude. Think about something from that day that you’re grateful for and/or something that you’re grateful to return to at home. This can set you up for a positive and mindful transition. We each have so many things to be grateful for, and equally as many opportunities to default to a mindset of lack and comparison. By building a habit of gratitude you can change the default & shift your mindset for life.

Day 8 – 5 Steps toward Embracing and Overcoming Your Fears Today we are going to address an often-overlooked aspect of job searching and career transition: facing personal fears. The problem is that when we avoid acknowledging our fears or taking time to address them, they will show up in an interview, the day an application must be turned in, or the first day at the new job. Fear is inevitable during a period of change. That is why, the sooner you are able to recognize and turn your fears into fuel, the sooner you will be able to start achieving your goals. Step 1: Acknowledge Your Fears - It's completely natural to feel fear during times of change. Whether it's the fear of rejection, the unknown, or even the fear of success, these feelings are valid and more common than you might think. Remember, acknowledging your fears is not a sign of weakness, but a brave first step towards conquering them. Take Action! Sometime today, set a timer for 5-10 minutes and write down every doubt or fear that you have in your head about your career transition. Step 2: Reframe Your Perspective - Instead of viewing your fears as roadblocks, try to see them as opportunities for growth. Each application, interview, or networking event is a chance to learn something new, regardless of the outcome. Every successful person has faced rejection, disappointment or failure at some point in their journey. How can you use those fears to fuel your actions and build your momentum each day? (Come back tomorrow to learn how to manage your mindset with self-coaching.) Step 3: Set Realistic Goals - Breaking down your career transition into smaller, achievable goals will make the process less daunting. Your accomplishments, no matter how small, will start to build your confidence and momentum. One tool that is extremely effective at helping with this step is a Career Development Plan. (More on that later this week.) Step 4: Embrace the Discomfort Zone - The greatest personal and professional growth usually happens outside our comfort zones. Embracing challenges and new experiences is integral to your career journey. If you don't step out of your comfort zone, it’s unlikely that you will ever experience the immeasurable success you could be designing for yourself. Step 5: Connect with Others - You are not alone in this journey. Reach out to your network, mentors, or a coach. Sometimes, just talking about your fears can diminish their power. Plus, you might be surprised at how many people have faced similar challenges and can offer valuable advice and support. Unless you are in mortal danger, fear is caused by the thoughts you assign to your current circumstances based on your previous experiences and doubts. When you learn to change your thoughts and take action, you can change your life. Your past does not have to define your future. Are you ready to design your future? #JobSearch #CareerTransition #OvercomingFears #CareerWiseGrowth #Day8

"Change the way you speak about yourself and you can change your life. What you are not changing, you are also choosing" Often, it is underestimated how the words we choose to describe ourselves can significantly affect our mindset, behavior, and ultimately, our lives. The words we choose in these internal conversations, particularly when speaking about ourselves, significantly impact us. Bruce Lee, the legendary martial artist said, "Change the way you speak about yourself and you can change your life. What you are not changing, you are also choosing." The Power of Self-Talk Our inner dialogue shapes our perception of who we are, our capabilities, and our limitations. If we talk negatively about ourselves, it can erode our self-confidence, lead to self-doubt, and limit our potential. On the other hand, positive self-talk boosts our self-esteem, encourages self-efficacy, and propels us toward our aspirations. This isn't about mere positive affirmations (or building up a false narrative in our minds) but about a truthful, optimistic internal narrative. Instead of labeling yourself as "incapable" or "unworthy," focus on your efforts, growth, and resilience. Remember, it's not about unrealistic positive thinking but constructive self-talk. Choosing to Change Lee's words also remind us, "What you are not changing, you are also choosing." In life, inertia can be an invisible enemy. We may complain about our circumstances, but if we're not taking steps to change them, we're passively choosing them. This part of the equation is all about making active choices, about stepping out of our comfort zones and asserting our power to shape our lives. Making the Shift So how can we translate this understanding into practice? Here are a few strategies: Conscious Self-Talk: Develop an awareness of your internal dialogue. Notice how you talk about yourself. If you find negativity seeping in, consciously reframe those thoughts into more positive and constructive ones. Embrace Growth Mindset: Rather than viewing your abilities as fixed, adopt a growth mindset. See challenges as opportunities for learning and mistakes as stepping stones towards progress. Active Change: When faced with unfavorable circumstances, identify what you can do to change them. Remember, choosing not to act is still a choice. Patience and Perseverance: Changing habitual thought patterns takes time and effort. Be patient with yourself and keep persevering. Remember, the language we use when we talk about ourselves is not just a reflection of our reality; it also plays a significant role in shaping that reality. By mindfully changing the way we speak about ourselves and actively choosing to bring about changes, we can drive our lives in the direction we desire. Change your self-talk, change your life.
