🎉 Celebrating our FINAL 2025 Nonprofit Industry Innovation Award Winner for "Platform Rockstar," World Wildlife Fund (WWF)! World Wildlife Fund, the worlds's largest conservation organization, was celebrated this year for their excellence in using Workday solutions to drive overall mission impact. WWF retired more than a dozen legacy systems when they implemented Workday globally in 2020 through their transformative "Panorama" project. The Challenge: After stabilizing their initial global rollout, WWF found it challenging to continue scaling their "Work That Matters" initiative, especially when biannual updates coincided with critical times like February (budget preparation) and August (fiscal year start). They needed to maximize impact and efficiency while facing typical nonprofit budget and resource constraints. The Transformation: Focusing on efficiency, transparency, and mission impact, WWF utilized Kainos Smart Test, the automated testing solution from Built-On-Workday, to scale efficiencies and process improvements. This automation allowed the small team to save time on key roadmap projects and review the downstream impact of security changes, protecting high-risk integrations. The Impact: The implementation provided workforce agility, better user engagement, and a sustainable global platform. The automation initiative delivered dramatic results for the small team: 💾 Manual testing effort for bi-annual updates dropped from 100% (assigned to 30 staff) down to 5-10% (involving only 5 staff at reduced hours), representing a more than 83% decrease in Subject Matter Expert (SME) effort. ⏳ In 2024, WWF saved 10,000 testing hours. 💵 The cost of testing (manual vs. solution cost) was reduced by 87%. 6️⃣ The automated testing now performs the equivalent work of six full-time employees. 🎉 Celebrating our 2025 Nonprofit Industry Innovation Award Winner for "Rapid Time to Value," the Motion Picture Association (MPA)! The MPA, an organization with over 100 years of history, was honored in this category for their swift deployment and immediate results with Workday. The Challenge: The MPA faced technological fragmentation; countries outside of the USA and Canada each used different general ledger systems. This resulted in global financial consolidation being a lengthy, manual, multi-week process. Even closing domestic books took 18 days each month with their old system. The Transformation: The MPA selected Workday as their general ledger and executed an EVO approach implementation, achieving: 🚀 Operational go-live within just three months 💱 Automation of all interfund accounting 🎮 Enhanced business processes to strengthen the overall control environment The Impact: 📆 By automating international consolidation through Workday, the MPA reduced their monthly accounting close by 3 days. ⏲️ Utilizing A/P automation workflows within Workday, they slashed the processing time for each invoice by approximately 50%. 🌎 The MPA successfully laid the groundwork for a successful Workday Adaptive Planning implementation, and is currently underway with a global Workday HCM deployment.
