Drees & Sommer’s Post

Every year, SEMICON Europa showcases what truly drives the semiconductor industry, and in 2025, it is primarily one thing: how Europe can become more resilient. 25,000 trade visitors, over 500 exhibitors, and around 200 speakers – the fair is the central forum for semiconductors and microelectronics in Europe. This year’s motto is “Global Collaborations for European Economic Resilience” and highlights the growing need for strategic partnerships and technological sovereignty. 🧩 A glimpse into the future of chip production – in miniature format: At our booth, we showcase a FAB model that reveals how complex the construction of a semiconductor factory truly is. A FAB is much more than an industrial building. It must house cleanrooms where temperature, humidity, vibrations, and air purity are maintained at a level that few other buildings achieve. Every detail counts, because only when all systems work together perfectly can chips be manufactured without errors. FAB design therefore requires highly specialized overall planning, where architecture, technology, cleanroom design, supply systems, and production processes intertwine with each other. Together with our partners UNIT4 GmbH & Co. KG - part of DREES & SOMMER, CRC HI-TEC ENGINEERING, and Industry Consulting Strobl, we are already in our third year at the event. These topics shape the discussions at our booth:   ➡️ How can smart factories be planned to sensibly integrate automation, robotics, and AI? ➡️ How can production in Europe remain competitive? ➡️ And how can supply chains that withstand crises be created?   SEMICON shows that the semiconductor industry faces great challenges – and at the same time, a future full of technological opportunities. #Industry #SemiConductor #FabDesign #Innovation #Dreso
