- [Instructor] Proper organization is a secret weapon for writing clearly. When you outline your ideas before you start writing, it's easier to find the most logical order to meet your audience's needs, and your outline also acts as a framework for your content to fill in as you go. And in some cases, it can also serve as the table of contents for your document. For example, let's say you're creating a brochure to help people host an olive oil tasting party. In this case, a chronological structure makes sense. This chronological approach mirrors how users will actually taste the oil, and it's a good choice for giving instructions. On the other hand, if you're writing a single document that has to cover a lot of information for multiple audiences, it can make more sense to separate information by audience at the top level, and then maybe take a chronological approach within those higher level sections.
