What you should know
- [Instructor] If you're wondering what sort of background you need to take this class, certainly some basic knowledge of computer networking would help either on-prem or in the cloud. If the terms subnets, IP addresses, route tables, VPN connections make sense, you've heard of them, you probably fit into this class quite well. At the same time, I explain all of these concepts, so if you don't have any network background and you're taking the class 'cause you want some, well, welcome aboard. If you're planning to take a certification such as the Associate Cert, SysOps, or even the Developer Certification, or perhaps you're taking the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification, this class will help you get the background required to understand the terminology of networking. And a lot of jobs require the knowledge of the network, but maybe you're actually not going to set it up. But this class is certainly going to get you ready to take some hands-on labs. There's going to be lots of demos explaining the concepts to a point, but with networking you really have to get your own hands dirty and do some hands-on after the class. So if you're up for those conditions, welcome aboard.
