- [Instructor] In this lesson, let's take a look at IPv6 addresses. IPv6 addresses are massive in the amount of addresses that you can have. 128 bit address, it's expressed as eight groups of four hexadecimal digits. That should stop you right there thinking, "Well, I'm never going to memorize them." That's a good thing. Now, if you can memorize them, I guess that's a good thing. So 340 undecillion IPs, we could label the grains of sand in theory. And here's the bad joke. "We might run out," I don't think so, but it's going to take some time to have everything switched to IPv6 at AWS, but it's happening. They actually now charge you for IPv4 addresses to try to force you to switch to IPv6. So Explore California is going to look at using IPv6 subnets and see if they can save a bit of money that way. The types of addresses available are public. These are defined as globally unique, routable addresses. And at Amazon, we get these addresses from their own pool of addresses, or you can…
