- Hello, and welcome back to Video Post-Production Weekly. Today it's only me here, alone in the studio. Well, not so alone. I have my microphone right here with me, which makes it a great opportunity to offer a few tips and advises for recording voiceovers. So the first one is find a quiet space. This goes without saying, but I will mention this because it is so important. Record your voice in a quiet, controlled room. Ideally soundproof studio. If you can't do it, then remember to record a minute of room tone. You can then use these later at the post stage, as a noise sprints to remove and clean your audio. Put the microphone in the right place. When recording voiceovers start with the microphone, eight to 12 inches in front of your mouth. This is a good space for most mics and most people to capture your natural voice without distortions. Use a pop filter. Pop filters can help you protect against plosive sounds.…
