- Sure, you might imagine an architect is solely responsible for the design of a building, but before any of this can occur, there's a lot of planning that needs to happen. Some examples of predesign activities include site analysis. An owner or client might know what type of building they need or want, but they don't have a site selected for their project. You'll assist in selecting the site that will best suit the type of project being planned. Building analysis, when a client purchases a building, and is looking to renovate it, you might help the client identify some major areas needing improvement, or help identify features and amenities that could add value to the final design. Preliminary code analysis. say an owner has a site and a building in mind.
