Is your inner voice an inner bully? As author and speaker Lisa Hayes would say "Be careful how you talk to yourself because you are listening." Your thoughts are powerful, and although it's important to acknowledge and honor difficult feelings, getting stuck in negative thought patterns can lead to a lot of stress, self-doubt, and inaction. Luckily, you can reframe those thoughts. Let's talk about three common negative thought patterns and how you can reframe them. Firstly, Black and White Thinking is when you see things, situations or people including yourself as all good or all bad. For example, if you make a mistake in a presentation, you might think, "oh, I'm terrible at my job." To reframe find the grey by saying to yourself "I made a mistake that I can learn from and I'll do better next time." Next, Catastrophizing, is worst case scenario thinking.
