- [Instructor] So if you're doing an album, there are a lot of different ways to measure loudness and there are more complex things that you need to do to make sure that you're following the loudness curve of the album. But if we're just doing a single, then we want to find how far we need to nudge this down to get to minus 18. So I'm going to analyze it. Now we're at minus 10, so we need a lot more headroom. So let's just go ahead and pull it down, minus 7.5. This isn't a one-to-one of actual DV pull down, but it tends to be somewhat in the ballpark. Analyze again, 17.6, getting warmer. Bingo, minus 18. Okay, don't worry about the fact that the true peak is so low in this mastered one. One of the things about Atmos mixing is that we have a lot more dynamic range to play with, because of the fact that the integrated loudness needs to be minus 18 LUFS and we still have a true peak of minus one.
