The next module we'll analyze is materials management or MM. Materials management tracks the material journey from manufacture all the way to customer. With SAP's new terminology, the functions of materials management are being split into two different lines of business. Purchasing functions are now in the sourcing and procurement line of business. An inventory management functions are in the supply chain line of business. Materials management ensures we always have the required materials in stock, and that we handle those materials efficiently to help us increase productivity and reduce cost.
