Custom buttons and links
- [Instructor] Custom buttons and links can streamline actions with external URLs, applications or systems. These custom buttons and links are added to object records. There are three types of custom buttons and links to consider. One, detailed page link, which creates a link under the link section on an object record page. Two, detail page button, which creates a button in the action menu in the highlights panel of a record. Or three, list button, which creates a button as a related list item on an object record page. As always, before proceeding with making changes, be sure to consider potential limitations and best practices. You can find those listed via Salesforce's help in the titled Custom Button and Link Considerations page.
