Creating a CMU elevator shaft
Since elevator shafts are generally a structural item, we'll address it here. In Revit under Models, let's go Open. Browse for your QP Direct to Size files. In Chapter 3, we'll grab Structural 3-5. Click Open. I'd like to make an additional level. So, under Structural Plans, let's go to Level 1. In level 1, let's just double-click on the south elevation right here. Right-click on the roof level and create similar. On the draw panel, click the pick lines button. Let's go to plan view types. Let's make sure just structural plan is turned on hit OK. For the offset let's type in 8 feet. I'm going to offset roof up. Hit escape a couple times. Select level 8 Select it again. All caps call it pent house. Click off of it and click yes to renamed corresponding views. Perfect. Now let's click the level 1 tab to go back to level 1. Let's pan up to this area right here. On the structure tab click the wall button. For the wall, let's click the properties drop-down. Let's select generic 8-inch…
