Adding isolated footings
Piers and pilasters need something to bear on as well. This is why Revit has isolated footings. Similar to the strip footing, this is a bearing element for other foundation systems. So let's go ahead and configure a couple isolated footings. In Revit, under models, let's go to open. Browse your exercise files. Let's Let's grab Structural 3-4. Click Open. Let's go to my new favorite plan. So in the Project Browser, under Structural Plans, let's go down to Top of Footing. Let's go to the structure tab and on the foundation panel, we'll go with isolated foundation. For footing rectangular, click edit type, click duplicate. This is going to be three foot dash six inches by three foot dash six inches by, we'll keep it at 12 inches and get rid of that number 2. Click OK. So for the foundation thickness we'll go one foot. The width will be 3 space 6. Length will be 3 space 6. Hit apply. Hit OK. Now what we can do here is if you hover over this button that says at structural column so if you…
