- [Instructor] Rasberry Pi OS is based on Debbian Linux, which is a large collection of software packages working mostly in harmony. From time to time, new versions of this software will be released. You can wait for the software update icon to appear in your task bar, or you can open a terminal window and run a couple of commands to update everything. First, open a terminal window and run the command sudo apt update that will update your local copy of the package database. Next run sudo apt upgrade. This begins the process of upgrading any outdated packages. Press y, followed by enter, or return to proceed. After it finishes upgrading, you may want to reboot to make sure that you're running the latest version of services. To reboot, click the Raspberry Pi menu. Choose shut down and click reboot. You may sometimes be instructed to perform a full upgrade with sudo apt full upgrade. A full upgrade may remove packages when necessary to perform an upgrade, and it's rare that something you…
