Enabling Gemini
- [Instructor] I'm here on the Gemini website at gemini.google.com. Let's get started and chat with Gemini. Let's click on the bottom where it says, ask Gemini and type in what is one plus one and hit Enter. All right, one plus one is equal to two. A simple prompt, but an important thing to validate with our models. I'm here on the public website, but if I want access to more powerful models, clicking on the top left here or other features, I should sign in and make an account. So let's go ahead and log into my Google account. Now you can see here I'm logged into my Google account. You can see on the left-hand side, I have more models and I have this little pro icon, indicating that I'm on a pro plan. And before we continue, let's validate our privacy policy with Gemini. We're going to go ahead and click on the bottom left in settings, and then we're going to hover over help. We're going to go ahead and click on Privacy. All right, so now we're in the Gemini Privacy Hub and the privacy hub will indicate how our data is being used. One thing to remember is that even though gen AI is powerful, it's important to understand what data policies are being used. In general, you should know that your data is being collected and may be reviewed for quality purposes. So I have that section open in this other tab. So you can see here how human reviewers improve Google.ai. In bold, we see, please don't enter confidential information in your conversations or any data you would want a reviewer to see or Google to use to improve your products, services, and machine learning technologies and these policies are different for business accounts. I have the AI tools for business open in a different tab. If we scroll down, we can understand the different capabilities that are offered with a business account. There's a confidentiality clause where your data is not used to train models, so a bit of a difference there. So let's go back to Gemini, and once again, let's ask Gemini what is one plus one? All right, great, it works in our logged in account. Now, if you're on a business account, you might need to ask your administrator to enable Gemini for you. In the next video, we'll get started with more advanced prompting techniques.
