Sparklines on table and matrix visuals

- [Instructor] Many times in data analysis, we want to display a snapshot of the trends over time. Edward Tufte coined the term sparklines, which refer to miniature lines that show the overall high-level trends in data. They can have a big impact when we use them effectively. In Power BI Desktop, I already set up a data model for average yearly spot prices for energy commodities. It also includes another table key for categorizing the commodities that we'll incorporate in our sparklines as well. Let's first set up a table visual where we put the commodity name and the average yearly price in the column values. We'll choose to average the aggregated spot price and we'll also turn off the total at the bottom of the table visual. The implicit totals like this don't necessarily give us a lot of insight into the data, so it cleans them up if we just take them off. To add the sparklines, we first need to enable the option in…
