- [Presenter] Many companies use a fiscal year that starts on January 1st, and ends on December 31st of each calendar year. There are also many companies that don't use the standard calendar, but rather, the end of the year is on March 31st, for example, which means the start of the year is on April 1st. Time Intelligence DAX filter functions like DATESYTD, DATESQTD, and DATESMTD, alter the context in which we're evaluating DAX measures, by expanding the date range in which we're evaluating the result, year-to-date, quarter-to-date, and month-to-date totals, respectively. Conversely, time intelligence functions like TOTALYTD, TOTALQTD, and TOTALMTD, let us create measure expressions to evaluate these year-to-date, quarter-to-date, and month-to-date totals, using slightly different syntax.
