Converting local time to UTC time

- [Narrator] We typically have 24 hours in a day. These hours, though, don't occur at the same time for everyone because we live in different parts of the world. Therefore, we segment the regions into time zones that we can compare against the Universal Current Time, UTC for short, based in Greenwich, in London, in the United Kingdom. New York City, for example, is typically five hours behind UTC time. However, New York isn't always five hours behind UTC. Twice a year, the time zones change. In the spring we move forward, which means it's now four hours behind UTC. Conversely, in the fall we change back to the time zone that's five hours behind UTC. Dealing with daylight savings time can create potential problems in data modeling but there are ways we can account for these time changes in Power BI.
