- [Instructor] A Power BI report is built across different views, report, data, model, and DAX query, which all contribute in different ways to creating a beautiful and functional report. So far, we have only looked at the report view. This has a canvas on which to place images, a filter pane, visual pane, and data pane by default. Notice that if I hover over this bar, it says sum of sales and a long number with no units. Next up, we have data view. It lets you inspect and transform your data set, creating new fields or aggregations using columns and measures. Up here it says new measure, new column. A measure is a bit like a function in Visual Basic in the old days in Excel. So a measure will output a single number, whereas a column gives you a whole new column with one value for each row. We can still see the same data pane on the far right that we saw in report view. Actually, I found an error in the sample data and I would like to mend that now at the beginning of the course. You…
