How to increase your productivity and efficiency
How to increase your productivity and efficiency. You can get more done in less time and avoid burning the midnight oil by implementing the right actions, tools, and routines. In this video, you'll discover the tactics and routines to help you get the most out of your day while avoiding burnout. First, start by jotting down all the activities you must do in order to run and grow your business. And here's an example. On my end, I have to record my podcast, write my newsletter, post on LinkedIn as well as coach clients, and then create video content, too. The list goes on, but the point is the first, identify all the actions you must do on a weekly basis, and how much time you need to complete them. Then, block off time on your calendar for these activities. On my end, I discovered I have to spend ten hours per week creating content, so I proactively have that scheduled on my calendar. I don't always know what specific content I'll be making, but I know I need to protect that time. And in regard to timing, I'm more creative at the beginning of the day, so I block off mornings for content creation. You should take the same approach. Don't just protect your time, protect your energy as well. But how can you maintain your energy and focus throughout the day? I use the Pomodoro technique. Here's how you can do it, too. First, decide what task you want to work on. Then turn off all notifications and work on it for 50 minutes straight. After that, take a ten-minute break. I usually grab something to eat or stretch my legs a bit, then get right back to work. If you can repeat this cycle three times, you'll be amazed at how much progress you've made. And if 50 minutes feels like too long, you could also work for 25 minutes, then take a five-minute break instead. To recap, determine how much time you need for high-impact activities every week. Then, proactively block off that time in your calendar, and be sure to leverage the Pomodoro technique. Not every day will go according to plan, but at least you know how to get back on track once you experience any interruption. So, now, take a few minutes to reflect on how you structure your day and week, and look for areas of optimization.
