- [Narrator] The Microsoft 365 Cloud is a subscription-based model. It has predictable fees. In other words, you know that you'll be paying a fixed amount of money per user, per month. You can adjust your subscription as needed to meet specific requirements. In an on-premise environment, there's a high upfront cost for both equipment, that's hardware, and for software. There are additional costs required for technical staff. It could be argued, I suppose, that Exchange Server in an on-prem environment is considerably more complex to implement and to support, and to keep up to date with patches than Exchange Online in Microsoft 365. And so, people costs can be quite high for an on-prem environment. There's a limited ability to add and remove capacity or services because you have to purchase that equipment.
