Overview of Windows Autopilot
- [Instructor] Why use Windows Autopilot? Well, images aren't required. It can be quite time consuming to create and manage desktop images. If you use the default images that come on the Windows product DVD or the ISO file equivalent in the sources folder, that's fine. There's no customization. But then you're having to do a lot of post installation work to bring the device to the appropriate organizational standard. So it tends to be the case that organizations in on-prem environments create images that are specific to their needs. That includes creating a workstation, which acts as a sort of a template, building it fully to the required standard, installing all the necessary apps, configuring security settings and so on, applying Windows updates, device driver updates.
