- I am a total introvert. I find smalltalk and crowded events exhausting, so my preferred way of building professional relationships is to grab coffee with someone or meet at their office. Now, I also go to big networking events, but when I do, I go in with a purpose and I leave when I start feeling emotionally drained. As you start to explore networking environments, you'll figure out which are the most comfortable for you. Let's start by defining different ways to network. As we talk through these, think about what your natural inclination might be. First, one-on-one conversations. These are a great way to build the foundation of a relationship.
