Office Scripts, Power Automate, and the Power Platform
- [Instructor] Let's add one more tool to the mix, Office Scripts. While it isn't technically part of the Power Platform, it's a cloud-first tool, just like Power Automate, so there are some exciting things you can do with them together. Power Automate is designed to create workflows that connect Excel with other applications and services. It's excellent for automating data entry, sending alerts and triggering multi-step processes across different platforms. Office Scripts, on the other hand, is built specifically for Excel Online. Think of it as a cloud-friendly evolution of macros, using a type of JavaScript instead of VBA. It allows you to record and run scripts that automate repetitive tasks within an Excel workbook. Formatting data, cleaning up entries, generating reports, these are the kinds of things Office Scripts excels at. It's the perfect tool when your automation needs to stay within Excel and doesn't require connections to outside applications. Some real magic can happen…
