Manage your pipeline

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at what the pipeline is, why it's important, and how to manage it effectively to streamline your hiring process. Now, the pipeline shows where your candidates are in the recruitment process, helping you to track and manage them from start to finish. It lets you see and follow candidates as they move through the stages of hiring. Now, to access your pipeline, you can navigate to any project from your homepage. Every project will have its own pipeline. Here, I'll navigate to the sales manager in San Francisco. When it opens up, I'm inside of my overview, but note that one of these tabs is the pipeline. Now, between videos, I added some candidates to my pipeline so that I had some in here to show. But you can see these are candidates that have moved past the initial stage of the talent pool. There are three main ways that someone would be in your pipeline. First, you save them from your talent pool to your pipeline in a project. So in other words, when I'm back here in the talent pool, this is where I was looking over the candidates to see which ones I was interested in saving. If I found one that I wanted to save, I could take that action of saving them to the pipeline. Now, if I didn't like them and didn't want to consider them for the position, I could click on hide and they would be gone. Now instead, I'll click save to pipeline, and that candidate will now be saved to that pipeline. I can navigate back over here, and they are now in the pipeline. Now, if this is someone I didn't want in the pipeline anymore, I can archive them and now that candidate has been archived. The second way that someone could appear in your pipeline is if you've created a job post and someone has applied. We'll take a look at this in another video, but once they apply, they'll appear in the pipeline for that project. The final one is if you manually add someone, which we'll also take a look at in another video. Now, in my pipeline, I have three different stages and you can see them on the left hand side. I have one that's uncontacted, contacted and replied. Depending on how yours was customized, it may have other stages, such as, in review, interviewing, or offered. Now, when a candidate's in your pipeline, it's someone that you're considering for the position. So it's at this time that you would start reaching out to candidates. For this reason, you want to track where they are in the pipeline. Let's say for instance that the candidate here, Julie, that I wanted to send her a message and I did that, went in here, sent her an InMail, and once I did, I could then change her stage. So I could put here, contacted, and as you see, now I have five who are uncontacted and one who's contacted. If I did the same for, let's say Freya and I changed her stage to contacted, now, I would have four in uncontacted and two in contacted, and I can click here to bring up those people. Now, let's say that I heard back from one of them and we heard back from Freya, I can change her stage to replied and she'll now be moved to that stage. So that's how you could manage candidates between stages. As they progress through the hiring process, you would update their status by moving them to that appropriate stage. This would help keep you and your team up to date and informed on the progress for that project and that candidate. Another great way to manage the candidates in your pipeline is to utilize the recruiting tools. When I open up someone's profile card, in the upper right corner, I have these recruiting tools, which includes notes, reminders, links, and tags. So that's a quick look at the pipeline. The candidate pipeline is an essential tool for keeping your recruitment process organized and efficient. By effectively managing your pipeline, you can ensure a smoother and more successful hiring journey.
