From the course: Learning Adobe XD

Home screen

- When you first launch Adobe Experience Design, you come to this screen, which is the home screen. And the home screen is one of those places where you're going to be coming to a lot. So it's good idea to start this course by taking a look at what is here. Down this side, you can open a new file. You can open an existing document. We're already on the home screen. You get access to some really interesting tutorials through Learn. And then down here is a listing of the files. And you can see I've got some files here. Files that have been shared with you. These are files that your team members may have shared with you. And even links where your team members sent you a link and said, "Could you take a look at this file?" And the delete is not really delete file. What it does is it opens up files that have been deleted. So if you accidentally get rid of one, you can always get it back. Over here is where a lot of the work happens. You've got to make some decisions. These are the various screens that you can create. So if I click this pop down here, you can see that I can create an art board for an iPhone 13, 12 pro max. And you get the size of the art board, and of course you get the Google Pixel and an iPad. Web. Well, the three choices are the usual suspects. If you're into social media and you want to create for it, Well, there are a whole bunch of art boards that you can use for that. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. And if you just want to do it yourself, you can actually create a custom size art board. So to do that, you would just say, "Look, give me an art board that is 800 wide by 600 high." And when you click it, it will actually open up the interface and that art board will show up. And down here are all the files that you will be saving. Every time you save a file in xd, it gets saved to the cloud or to a local place, such as a folder or a hard drive or a USB drive or whatever. But it will tell you that it's there. And as you work through xd, you're going to see this area absolutely load up. So there you go. There's the start page. It's sort of like ground zero for getting yourself going with xd.
