Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA): introduction

- Welcome to Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate, or KCNA, complete video course. This video course was designed to teach you everything you need to know to get started with Kubernetes and cloud native computing. The contents of this course are designed to help you successfully prepare the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Computing Associate, or the KCNA exam, but this is also a good course for anyone interested in simply learning Kubernetes basics. The KCNA exam focuses on concepts and solutions using cloud native environments. This course has been built to teach you the material you need to know to pass the exam using lecture and hands-on labs. I'll carefully guide you through the essential topics of Kubernetes and computing in cloud native environments, focusing on the core concepts. Each lesson ends with a real world lab so that you can test your skills. You'll also find practice test questions so that you can get a feel for the exam. I also include Lightboard explanations for some of the concepts where visualization proves helpful. In addition to learning key concepts and terminology, I'll also show you how to get started with the most commonly used tools, so you can see how to run applications in Kubernetes. In module one, you'll learn about the different certifications that Cloud Native Computing Foundation is offering, from the entry level KCNA up to the three most advanced exams. In module two, you learn about cloud native technologies and solutions. This module is all about core terminology you should have an understanding of while working in cloud native environments. Next, we will discuss using containers. You'll first learn about container fundamentals, and then you learn about common concept use in container orchestration. In module four, you'll learn about Kubernetes. We'll discuss options for learning Kubernetes, and you'll learn how to bring up a minicube environment to start deploying your pods and deployments. This module also teaches you about fundamental concepts for learning applications in Kubernetes, such as networking and working with configuration. In module five, you'll learn how to learn applications in the cloud native environment. We'll discuss how to deliver applications. You'll also learn about observability, including details about the most common tools to manage observability. As you'll spend quite some time together in this course, let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is so Sander van Vugt, and I'm an instructor, author, and consultant living in the Netherlands and working with customers around the world, specialized in cloud, native Linux, and automation. I have published more than 30 video courses on these topics, such as my bestselling Getting Started with Kubernetes, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, and Certified Kubernetes Administrator. I'm looking forward to introducing you to these exciting topics, so let's wait no longer and get started.
