- [Kelly] So, we're actually going to start out with network connectivity devices, and let's look at those first. Now, I'm going to take you on a little trip down memory lane. And yes, I know we don't use hubs today, but humor Kelly, sometimes I think it helps to kind of take a look at where we were, so that we can figure out where we are now and why that's better. Okay, so back in the days, before electricity when dinosaurs ruled the earth, we used hubs for connectivity. This is when I first started getting into networking, and we had a lot of systems connected together by hubs. Now, the best thing about hubs is they were cheap, and they were easy, and we love cheap and easy. When those two words come together, we love it. So, it was a no brainer in a lot of situations, you got a couple of computers that need to share some information or some resources, connect them to a hub.
