(upbeat music) - [Instructor] Let's think about the IoT network, consisting of five sensor nodes, numbered from one to five and the one gateway node on the right. As the nodes' locations can be random, their positions depicted here do not necessarily reflect their actual locations because all nodes can directly interact with remote gateway. We know that there is a wireless link between a sensor and a gateway. Now, the topology is a star. However, the topology does not quite meet the requirement because if one link is down, the sensors will not be able to transmit any messages wirelessly to the gateway. In this case, let's add additional links as we know that the sensors can communicate with each other over a long range. This way, we can ensure there is at least one additional path available, consisting of two links per path. We can add more links to ensure such a redundancy is available to all other nodes.…
