- After opening the one-on-one meeting on time begin by reviewing any previously delegated items. If you've been keeping a categorized task list related to your team member, bring that and you'll find it easy to both report your progress and follow up on theirs. Go through your list and briefly check in on each delegated item. Avoid dwelling on individual items. Keep the meeting moving along. If your coworker completed the delegated task, express appreciation. Often saying a simple thank you or great job is enough. If you have a little extra time, you can ask a positive follow up question like what did you learn while completing this? This creates a mini teaching moment for them to share insight with you and improve future work. But what if they didn't complete what they agreed to do?
