- [Instructor] Not everything printed ends up on paper. To prove it, view the list of available printers in Windows. Press the Windows + I keyboard shortcut, and in the settings app, choose Bluetooth & devices, Printers & scanners. Here you see a list of printers and scanners, some of which are real and some of which are virtual. The HP OfficeJet is a real printer out there in the physical world setting ink on paper. The Microsoft Print to PDF and Fax options are virtual printers. These create digital documents. In fact, the Print to PDF printer is the default on my main computer as most of the material I create is accessed digitally. To create a PDF and use the virtual printer, print as you normally would. Press Control + P in an app. And then, choose the virtual printer from the list when it's not presented as the default. The options here now affect the digital page printed.
