Viewing IAM policies

Viewing IAM policies

- Viewing IAM policies. So a policy is a collection of bindings. As we talked about before, a binding binds one or more members or principles, which would be users, groups, et cetera, to a role which is a collection of permissions. So how do you go and view which policies you have, which bindings you have? So you go to the IAM console and then right in the IAM menu, here you can see a list of permissions in terms of principles and the roles that have been assigned to these principles. So here you can also click on the view by role step to see a list of roles, and then inspect for each of these roles, what other principles that have been assigned these roles. So two forms of viewing IAM policies in the console. Obviously you can also do the same using GCloud, but just to give you a sense here. Obviously you can do the same in GCloud. The command would be GCloud projects get IAM policy, in this case to see the policies associated to a specific project.
