- You've seen that over a decade ago, Google Brain used unsupervised learning to search YouTube videos for recognizable patterns. It found over 20,000 patterns, everything from faces to computers. Then the engineers labeled that data so it could output the patterns as an image. The results were dreamlike images of humans and cat faces. Now, over a decade later, engineers can use a similar technology to generate new images. This artificial intelligence isn't just engineer-defined patterns or predict behavior. Instead, this new field of AI is about being creative. This new field is called Generative Artificial Intelligence or Gen AI. It's about training systems to take existing data and remix it into something completely new. Remember that one of the big challenges with predictive artificial intelligence is that you must train a specific model. This model is usually designed for this one task.
