- Data privacy is extremely important. To start, educators need to understand what constitutes sensitive information in an educational context. Sensitive information includes student records, personal data, grades, and any other information that can identify a learner or reveal personal details about them. This can also include health records, disciplinary records, and even personal communications with the learner or their families. Another important example is learner intellectual property, otherwise known as student work.
