Creating a trimmed pattern tile
- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you how to create a trim pattern. Trim patterns are how you create a pattern tile which is most often used for surface pattern designs that are digitally printed on fabric, or they could be printed for gift wrap, and wallpaper as well. So let's jump to this. This is going to be a whole lot of fun, and it's a very easy process-wise in terms of building one. So this shape represents our overall bounding box, and because this is a trim pattern, it's also going to serve as the background color. Now, what you've seen so far in this course is I've used the appearance panel to kind of create the hierarchy of a pattern. I have a background color, then I add a pattern fill above that.
