How to measure the success of email
- You need to be keeping a close eye on a few key metrics within email marketing to really reveal the health and effectiveness of your campaigns. And these metrics are going to tell you a story about engagement and more importantly, conversions. So let's break down some of these most important metrics. For starters, open rate, and this is pretty straightforward, it's the percentage of subscribers who actually opened the email that you sent. A low open rate might mean your subject line isn't compelling enough, or maybe your emails aren't hitting the inbox at the right time. Now, while it's a starting point, don't obsess only over this, as some email clients might inflate this metric. Next, we have Click-Through Rate or CTR, and this measures the percentage of people who opened your email and then clicked on at least one link inside. And this is a much stronger indicator of engagement than just open rate. It's telling you if your content and your calls to action are actually compelling…
