Low-fi prototyping

Low-fi prototyping

- By using rapid, low-cost prototyping tools, you can quickly create the perfect prototype for your user. Even a low-cost, Low-Fidelity prototype can give you valuable information about how a user will interact with your design. As you move into the Low-Fi Prototyping Stage, you can start to focus on user interaction as this is a key component in VR design. So why should you create a Low-Fi prototype? Why not just jump right into designing in a virtual reality game engine? Low-Fi prototypes are interactive and can engage users in specific tasks without all the heavy lifting of building out a VR environment. Engaging users early on in the design cycle is key to saving you time and energy, and to ensuring your design is meeting your user's needs. Low-Fi prototyping can be as simple as using paper examples to elicit user feedback, or a Low-Fi prototype could be a few cardboard boxes that a user can walk through to help you understand how a user might navigate a given space.
