Log data with DAQ Assistant

- [Instructor] Logging data and saving it to a file is a common part of many DAQ applications. And lab view supports several file formats for doing so. One such format is the lab view measurement, or .LVM file, which stores data as an ASCII formatted text file. The benefit of using a text-based format, is that the data is human readable using any text editor, however, it has the downside of producing large files, which can take up a lot of space on disk. If you'll be acquiring and logging large amounts of data, I recommend using a TDMS file, which stands for technical data management streaming. TDMS is a binary file format, which was specifically designed for storing and retrieving measurement data. It's searchable, and has a relatively small footprint on disk, however, unlike the LVM format, it is not directly human readable.
