PKI use cases

- In this lesson, we're going to discuss some different PKI use cases. There are several use cases that rely on implementing PKI to additional privacy, confidentiality, integrity, or non-repudiation, such as in web services, email, code signing, federation, trust models, VPN, and enterprise and security automation and orchestration. These use cases all rely on the fact that PKI supports the use of public and private key pairs. The public key is going to be used to encrypt data that must remain private or confidential, since only the receiver's private key can open that data. The private key is going to be used when integrity and non-repudiation are our priority since we can hash the data to ensure integrity and encrypt that hash digest with our own private key to ensure non-repudiation by using a digital signature.
