(ethereal music) - [Instructor] This module is all about Network Management, and we're going to begin at the command line, and we'll consider utilities such as debug and the ping and trace route, then we'll consider a series of protocols with network management in mind, like SNMPs, Simple Network Management Protocol. We'll see how syslog allows us to capture and log events of specified severity levels. We'll see how NetFlow works to watch the flows going through our router and how to send that flow information maybe to a collector. We'll be able to do packet captures on our Cisco catalyst switches with SPAN, Switch Port Analyzer, and we'll consider three variations of SPAN: local SPAN, RSPAN, and ERSPAN. Next up, we'll see how the IP SLA feature allows us to monitor network conditions, such as the round trip ping time to a destination.
